Q: What exactly is a website maintenance plan, and what is included.

A: That’s 2 questions! But I will still answer it. Your website may need changes to content from time to time. We can provide these updates to your site, so you can focus whats important to you, running YOUR business. In addition we provide security updates and patches. Installation and updates to your plugins. Website backups in case the un-forseen happens and your site gets hacked or data corruption. I also can help review your site for broken links and SEO (Search Engine Optimization) errors.

Q: How long does it take to make changes to my website?

A: Some changes can be completed within hours of requesting. If more complicated changes are requested I will give you an estimate of time for completion.

Q: How are backups handled?

A: When a backup is preformed your complete database is backed up, as well as your websites content files. These will all be compressed and can either be emailed to you, or preferably uploaded to your cloud storage for safe keeping’s. You do not have to keep ALL of your backups, the last 5 backups should be sufficient. It is however your responsibility to store your backups after the site is backed up.

Q: Can I store my backups on my web hosting server?

A:While you can store it on your site, it is not recommended. The point of a backup is to secure your site in-case of failure. Would you really want to risk your backup on the server that was compromised? Another thing you should consider, is some web hosts may have it in their policy that your website must only contain files used for displaying websites. Meaning your large ZIP file may be against their terms of services.

Q; Am I locked into a website maintenance plan?
  • With Basic and General packages a 6 month commitment is required.
  • With Premium package, only a 4 month commitment is required.

After your initial commitment term has completed you are free to cancel or downgrade anytime.
However with the peace of mind having your website updated and secure, I’m sure you will be happy enough to continue.

Q: Do I have to host my website with Quast Tech Solutions/Idolized Hosting in order to get a maintenance plan with you?

A:No, I can maintain your website on any host. However if it is not hosted with my hosting, I will need access to your CMS and possibly Cpanel. I take great pride in privacy and security. please see my privacy policy for details
